Doing a web search on this play will provide you with dozens of good sites out there. You should be able to find lessons, links, video, worksheets, etc.

First I'll usually go over some basic history. My students already have studied the McCarthy Era in history, so I only have to cover Salem. I'll begin with a power point like this -- Introductory Power Point & Study Guide (collaborative effort with Teresa Mikulski).
Be sure to find a History Channel Video (not online) about the salem witch trials. I am not sure how you'd go about finding it. I found mine from an aunt that retired from teaching.

Sometimes I'll use a Play Study Guide & Tracking Characters Guide (directions). The tracking characters guide is more important for the kids to use than the study guide. We have read the play on our own and used a tape for assistance. Be careful what audio support you select. The one I most recently tried skipped parts of the play and was almost useless. My suggestion is to mix it up. Start out reading it in class. The shift back to the audio support and then end with your students reading. This year my students had fun reading the part where the girls were mocking Mary Warren.
